Let the Healing begin

Growing up, I chased attention with flashy clothes. It was an easy way to get noticed, especially in a family where positive attention was scarce—my siblings and dad only seemed to notice me when I was in trouble or they needed cash. So, whenever I felt down, I’d hit the mall. Retail therapy became my escape, a quick fix to feel seen and valued.

But that cycle of spending to feel good? It was a trap. I realized I was chasing fleeting validation instead of building something lasting. So, I flipped the script. Instead of buying another shirt when I felt low, I started buying stocks. Each investment was a small bet on my future, not just my appearance.

As my investments grew, so did my confidence. The returns weren’t just financial—they showed me I could accomplish things on my own. I didn’t need the spotlight from others anymore; I found solace in my own progress. Breaking that cycle wasn’t just about money—it was about learning to value myself beyond the surface.
